Dancheong is not only beautiful in itself,
but also offers a glimpse into the wishes,
philosophies, and wisdom of our ancestors.
Because of its long history,
there are many interpretations
—and misunderstandings—surrounding it.
To clarify the original meanings and patterns,
we began by consulting Korean essays and academic papers,
as well as conducting field research
to directly compare and examine the motifs.
Through this research,
we were able to better
understand the unique identity of Korean dancheong.
Rather than simply reproducing tradition,
we infused it with Cattleya’s modern sensibility
and creative motifs
—leading to the creation of our Four Seasons Silk Scarf,
inspired by the dancheong of Gyeongbokgung.
